Audienz is a Seattle-based Strategy
and Operations firm with additional
offices in Los Angeles and Boston.
The firm is 100 percent focused on the
high-tech sector and has been putting
together outstanding revenue numbers and growth rates— 40 percent
last year—with fewer people than one
might imagine. A forecast of 43 percent would be the icing on the cake
for landing Audienz as one of 2020’s
Seven Small Jewels.
2. AVIO Consulting
AVIO Consulting is an Addision,
Texas, IT firm focused on the Financial
Services, High Tech and Energy sectors,
among others. AVIO, which also has an
office in Buenos Aires, posted very impressive 58 percent revenue growth last
year and is forecasting a solid 37 percent
this year. At its current size, if the firm
delivers on that forecast, we’re pretty
sure they’ll end up a winner next year.
San Diego-based BaneCo grew a
whopping 100 percent last year and is
forecasting another 150 percent growth
this year. So, why isn’t the IT, Strategy
and Operations firm focused on several
sectors—including High Tech, BioTech and Healthcare—on the list? Well,
they’re relatively new and a bit smaller
than we’d like to see, but another year
or two of performance like this and
we’ll be hearing a lot more about BaneCo. And yes, the spelling is the key.
DecisivEdge is a Newark, Del.,
5. Hatch Works Technologies
based IT and Operation Management
consultancy with additional offices in
India and Ontario, Canada. The firm is
focused mainly on the Financial Ser-
vices and Healthcare sectors and has
performed admirably the last several
years, recording a 29 percent growth
rate in 2018. DecisivEdge is one we’ll
keep our eye on, that’s for sure.
IT firm HatchWorks Technologies
is headquarted in Atlanta with offices
in New York and Chicago. The firm is
solely focused on the Communications,
Financial Services/Banking and Healthcare sectors. Did someone say growth?
How about more than 3,000 percent?
Now that’s growth! And there’s more
to come with firm leaders forecasting
another 141 percent this year. Deliver
on that and we’ll see Hatch Works Technologies again next year.
6. Prime TSR
In 2013 Silent IT was founded by
former Accenture partners. Last year,
Silent IT became Prime TSR but the
impressive run continues despite the
name change. The Chicago-based firm,
focused on the High Tech, Insurance
and Healthcare sectors grew 38 percent last year and is forecasting another 50 percent growth for this year.
7. Scientific Commercialization
Scientific Commercialization is a
Madison, Wis., based Strategy, Operations Management and IT firm firmly
focused on the Healthcare sector. The
firm reported a healthy 65 percent
growth rate last year and is forecasting a robust 39 percent growth rate this
year. Safe to say if the firm can deliver
on that forecast, we’ll be seeing a lot
more of them down the road.
Turns out, there are really a lot of small, niche consult- ing firms out
there doing some great
things, and we hear from
a lot of them each year
around Seven Small Jewels time. We know because
they flood our nomination
inbox each year. As one
might imagine, there are
way more than just seven
firms deserving of recognition in any given year. And
this year was no different.
A bunch of firms stood out
in the eyes of the editorial
selection committee, but
for one reason or another, just didn’t quite make
the cut. Some just haven’t
been doing what they do
quite long enough to completely convince us they’re
here for the long haul. We
like to cover all of our bases. But, we felt these outstanding firms needed to
be noticed. So, here they
are—this year’s Seven to
Watch. Often, these firms
on this list end up as one
of the Seven Small Jewels
a year or two later. So, you
might want to keep an eye
on them; I know we will,
that’s for sure.
